JEOPARDY! BAR LEAGUE COMPETITION 

Official Business Rules

  1. Competition Overview

The Jeopardy! Bar League Competition (“Competition”) is a national, eight-week, team-based competition conducted at participating Jeopardy! Bar League venues across the United States. 

Competition Period:
Begins Sunday, March 22, 2026
Ends Saturday, May 16, 2026 

In addition to these Rules, the Competition is subject to the Jeopardy! Bar League Terms of Use. In the event of a conflict between these Rules and the Jeopardy! Bar League Terms of Use, these Rules will control. There is no purchase necessary to play. A purchase will not increase your chances of winning.  

  1. Eligibility
  • Open to legal residents of the United States who are 21 years of age or older 
  • Participation must occur at an official participating Jeopardy! Bar League venue. 
  • Employees of STREAMSIX Corp., Sony Pictures Television, Geeks Who Drink LLC and participating venues, and their respective affiliates, and their immediate family members are strictly prohibited from participating in the Competition.  
  • To be eligible to participate in the Competition, each participant must register for and maintain an active Jeopardy! Bar League account. 
  • Each team must be formally registered within the Jeopardy! Bar League system. 
  • Only registered teams and registered players will be eligible to accumulate points, appear on the leaderboard, or receive prizes. 
  • Failure to properly register may result in ineligibility for prizes. 
  1. Team Structure
  • Teams may consist of up to six (6) players. 
  • Each team must designate a team captain. 
  • A team must maintain consistent team identification throughout the Competition. 
  • Player substitutions are permitted; however, eligibility for certain prizes (including the National Grand Prize) requires minimum participation thresholds (see Section 9). 
  1. Regions

The Competition consists of the following regions, which are further defined in an attached exhibit: 

  • Northeast 
  • Midwest/South Atlantic 
  • Central South 
  • Mountain West 

A complete list of participating venues are attached hereto. 

Jeopardy! Bar League  – Competition Regions  

 Northeast: CT, DC, DE, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, VA, VT, WV 

Midwest South Atlantic: FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KY, MI, MN, NC, SC, TN, WI 

Central South: AL, AR, KS, LA, MO, MS, ND, NE, OK, SD, TX 

Mountain West: AK, AZ, CA, CO, HI, ID, MT, NM, NV, OR, UT, WA, WY 

  1. Participation Limits
  • Teams may participate in as many official Jeopardy! Bar League event per week as they choose. 
  • Only the first eligible score recorded by a team during each Competition Week will count toward leaderboard standings and Competition scoring. 
  • Any additional participation during the same week will not be counted toward Competition scoring or leaderboard totals. 
  • A “Competition Week” shall be defined as Sunday through Saturday during the Competition Period. 
  • The “Home Venue” is defined as the location where a team plays the most frequently during the Competition Period. If a team plays equally in more than one venue, the venue with the highest overall score will be the Home Venue.   
  1. Scoring System

The Competition uses an ordinal scoring system. 

Per Event: 

  • 1st Place: 5 points 
  • 2nd Place: 4 points 
  • 3rd Place: 3 points 
  • All other participating teams: 1 point 

Points accumulate weekly across the eight-week Competition Period. 

Leaderboard updates will be reflected in near real-time, subject to technical limitations. 

  1. Tie-Breaking

In the event of a tie in ordinal standings for both regional prizes and national prizes: 

  • The tie will be broken by the aggregate Jeopardy! Bar League total game points accumulated across all eligible weeks. 
  • If still tied, additional tie-breaking procedures may be determined by the Competition’s organizers. 

All scoring determinations made by the Competition’s organizers are final and binding. 

  1. Regional Prizes

At the conclusion of the Competition, within each region, the following prizes will be awarded: 

  • 1st Place Team: $1,000 cash 
  • 2nd Place Team: $500 cash 
  • 3rd Place Team: $250 cash 
  • The team captain of the winning teams will have five (5) business days to respond to the Competition organizer’s email to confirm their prize. If they do not respond within this deadline, the next best performing team will be awarded the prize.  
  • Prize funds will be issued to the designated team captain within ten (10) business days of the team prize confirmation. The team captain is solely responsible for distributing funds to eligible team members. 
  • Jeopardy! Bar League, STREAMSIX Corp., Geeks Who Drink LLC and associated organizers are not responsible for internal disputes regarding distribution of prize funds among team members. 
  • Winners are responsible for any applicable federal, state, and local taxes. 
  1. National Grand Prize

The top overall national team will receive: 

  • A trip to Los Angeles to attend a Jeopardy! Taping. 
  • Meet-and-greet with Ken Jennings and show producers. 
  • Exclusive in-person casting audition. 
  • Two (2) nights’ hotel accommodations. 
  • Round-trip airfare and reasonable ground transportation. 
  • A celebration party at the team’s Home Venue for up to twenty (20) attendees, on a mutually agreed date, with a maximum value of $2,000. 

For clarity, the team that wins the National prize will not be eligible for the regional prize.  

Trip Coordination 

All travel arrangements will be coordinated through the designated team captain. Competition organizers will work directly with the team captain to arrange travel logistics, subject to availability and production scheduling constraints.  

To be eligible to attend the National Grand Prize trip: 

  • A player must have participated in at least fifty percent (50%) of the team’s eligible events during the Competition. 
  • A maximum of six (6) players may attend. 
  • If fewer than six (6) players meet the eligibility requirement, only eligible players may travel. 

Travel Conditions and Liability 

  • The trip must occur during the 2026 calendar year. 
  • Travel dates must align with the Jeopardy! taping schedule and are subject to mutual agreement of the team captain and the Competition organizers. 
  • All travel is subject to availability and third-party provider policies. 
  • Participants assume all risks associated with travel, including, but not limited to delays, cancellations, personal injury, illness, or loss of property. 
  • Competition organizers are not responsible for travel disruptions or circumstances beyond their control. 
  • Winners may be required to sign a travel liability waiver and release prior to booking. 
  • No cash alternative will be provided unless required by law. 

Celebration Party Conditions 

  • The celebration party must be hosted at the team’s Jeopardy! Bar League’s Home Venue. 
  • The party date must be mutually agreed upon by the venue and Competition organizers. 
  • Total party costs will not exceed $2,000. 
  • The $2,000 maximum includes food, alcoholic beverages, non-alcoholic beverages, applicable taxes, and gratuities. 
  • No cash alternative will be provided for any unused portion. 
  • Any charge overages will be the responsibility of the team captain.  
  • The party must take place during the 2026 calendar year unless otherwise approved by Competition’s organizers. 
  1. Participation Ballot Program (Random Draw)
  • At the end of the Competition, a random draw will be conducted for a $1,000 cash prize.   
  • For each week a team participates in an eligible event, one ballot entry will be recorded. 
  • Additional participation equals additional entries. 
  • At the conclusion of the Competition, one team will be selected via random draw from all eligible entries. 
  • Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received. 
  • Random draw procedures will be administered by Competition officials. 
  • The captain of the winning team will have five (5) business days to respond to the organizers email to confirm the prize. If they do not respond within this deadline, the draw will be reconducted.  
  • Prize funds will be issued to the designated team captain within ten (10) business days of the team prize confirmation. The team captain is solely responsible for distributing funds to eligible team members. 
  • Jeopardy! Bar League, STREAMSIX Corp., Geeks Who Drink LLC and associated organizers are not responsible for internal disputes regarding distribution of prize funds among team members. 
  • Winners are responsible for any applicable federal, state, and local taxes. 
  1. Disqualification & Integrity

Competition organizers reserve the right to disqualify any team or participant suspected of: 

  • Cheating 
  • Collusion 
  • Use of unauthorized devices or assistance 
  • Unsportsmanlike conduct 
  • Manipulation of scoring 
  • Void any points determined to have been improperly earned. 

All determinations made by Competition organizers are final and binding. 

  1. Venue Disclaimer

Jeopardy! Bar League and its organizers are not responsible for: 

  • Venue cancellations 
  • Schedule changes 
  • Weather disruptions 
  • Operational interruptions 
  • Venue closures or additions 

Venues may be added or removed during the Competition. 

Competition organizers reserve the right to adjust format, scheduling, or structure as necessary. 

  1. Technical Issues

Competition organizers are not responsible for: 

  • Connectivity failures 
  • Device malfunctions 
  • Leaderboard display delays 
  • Scoring synchronization errors 

In the event of technical disruption, Competition organizers may adjust scoring or reschedule events at their discretion. 

  1. Publicity & Media Release

Without any additional compensation, unless prohibited by law, participation in the Competition constitutes a participant’s consent for: 

  • Use of team name 
  • Participant names 
  • Photographs 
  • Video footage 
  • Social media content 
  • Promotional usage 
  1. Intellectual Property

All Jeopardy! trademarks, logos, game content, and associated materials remain the exclusive property of Sony Pictures Television and its licensors. 

Participation in the Competition does not grant any ownership or usage rights in Jeopardy! intellectual property. 

  1. Modification and Termination Rights 

If required due to unforeseen circumstances, Competition organizers reserve the right to: 

  • Modify rules 
  • Suspend or cancel the Competition 
  • Substitute prizes of equal or greater value 
  • Adjust scoring procedures
